Great stuff.Early bird catches the worm eh ?
I've attached a pic of Kilbroney park taken early in the morning before the classic vehicle invasion.
Also a copy of the entry form for anyone interested.[frame][/frame]

And you will have too suffer me too
Re: Kilbroney Vintage Rally,Rostrevor,Northern Ireland
Hopefully will have the old convertible back on the road again by then AND have successfully completed MOT to SW France. Have friends in Hillsborough who are very keen to see the car so am planning on coming across for a long weekend, staying with them and coming to the show on the Sunday. Look forward to putting faces to NI forum members names in June.

I hope some day to have the "courage" to embark on the MOT.
Best of luck coming across.

Gerard - although my last MOT was 22 years ago I did participate in MOT's 86-90 and they are absolutely excellent trips. If your car is mecahnically sound, and you have a great sense of adventure then go for it - you won't regret it and there is something extra special in saying I drove my Minor around the grand prix circuit in Monte Carlo, or climbed to the top of Mont Ventoux in Provence. Seriously - I'm exploring a trip along the Trans Canada highway in my car in 2013/14
The Minor is a very capable car and one of the best to go travelling with! Look forward to meeting you in Rostrevor in June

Bruce, you have begun to whet my appetite. My wife and I have many years experience driving in France, albeit not in a Minor.
I will keep a watching brief on this year's MOT,and who knows,we might take the plunge next year.
I will look out for you in June.

Thanks Gerard. Will look out for you too. Thoroughly looking forward to the trip already. There probably won't be too many Clipper Blue convertibles around so I'll have difficulty hiding
As far as the trips go - I'm all for using the cars as much as you can. If you ever get the chance, try and pick up a copy of Magnificent Morris Minor by the late Max Horvat. Max was a lovely guy and long term member of the club. He died in the early 90's but he did manage to convince the club to support his campaign to publish his book on his travels with his Minor - 79 MMM. The book was published and comes up cheaply on e-bay and elsewhere from time to time. He drove through France, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and in his latter years completed a few of the club trips too. The book is not only a great tribute to him but a rininging endorsement of what the car can achieve.
Here's a link to the Amazon page so you can see what it's all about
