Traveller at 60 Celebration
A reminder that on Sunday 22nd September, as many Travellers as possible, plus any other Minors that want to offer their support, are meeting at the British Motor Industry Heritage Centre at Gaydon CV35 0BJ (see http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/). As per the title of this thread, the event celebrates 60 years of the Morris Traveller car.
At the time of writing, we have 148 entries - can we get to 150+ ? There is still time to enter If you have not yet registered, but would like to attend, then please phone the office on zero one 332 two nine 1 six 75, or email kate.woodward at mmoc.org.uk Ideally entries should be completed by Wednesday 18th. There is an entry fee of £5.
There is also a road run from Oxford to Gaydon organised as part of the event (no additional charge). The museum opens at 10:00. On arrival, you will be given a voucher for reduced entry to the museum (you don't have to visit the museum, you will still have access to the cafe and toilets anyway). Your vehicle will be photographed on arrival, so please leave a reasonable gap between cars, and then Travellers will be marshalled to a special display area, other Minors will be able to use the normal car park.
Club merchandise will be on sale, including special "Traveller at 60" items, plus a range of the normal products and Morris Centenary items. Steve Foreman of "Woodies" will be in attendance to answer questions relating to Traveller Woodwork - a seminar room will be available in case of poor weather.
This is a fantastic opportunity to participate in a road run, meet fellow Traveller owners, chat to experts and MMOC Officials, purchase regalia, and visit the museum at a reduced rate. I hope that we can break that 150 mark, and that everyone enjoys the day.

Re: Traveller at 60 Celebration
We will be flying the Traveller 60 anniversary flag in Angouleme France for you 650 miles away.
Never mind those Renaults, Citroens ,Simca`s or Panhards the French are so keen on, you do not see many Travellers in France.

Re: Traveller at 60 Celebration
Yea
Looking forward to meeting people and their travellers
Pity they charge the drivers as well to enter the museum
Calculating the cost of entering if I add add the hotel fees and the petrol costs
Which I think will approx around about 160gbp for petrol and hotels around 75gbp per night
Will have a rethink on that too cold for the old tent at this time of year

Re: Traveller at 60 Celebration
We haven't made any arrangements for campers - it's a one day event, preceded by the road run. However, there is plenty of accommodation in the area, and feel free to contact Gaydon to see what they can offer by way of private arrangement. Look forward to seeing you there.

Re: Traveller at 60 Celebration
I've checked all the paperwork sent out when I applied and there's no mention of a time.

Re: Traveller at 60 Celebration
I'm presuming it's the usual 10 am for the museum, with people arriving for the show well before then .I always aim for 9.30 and find parking ok .The main show is usually organised by then ,with a few late comers filtering in.
Cheers Alex
