In service and now!

Post by pskipper »

Don't know if anyone else is lucky enough to have historic pictures of their police car in service but here's our ex-Wolverhampton traveller...[frame]Image[/frame]
And how he is now, in need of a lot of work![frame]Image[/frame]

I'd love to see any pictures of other peoples cars!

Oh yes, one more interesting fact about Norman is that he's commercially available in 1/76th scale...[frame]Image[/frame]
We couldn't resist buying one when we found out. The previous owner has been contacted by Oxford and given them the details!

That's the one! We picked him up last week and will get started as soon as we finish the Met Panda saloon (sadly not going to make it for this years national due to garage replacement timing). I hear Ian was doing a touch up on the paint work of your one to make sure you win this year

Hi Santa here  Here is my Ex-Cardiff /South Wales Panda (Sargent Morris). We belive that there are only two from this Force left. Mine is MKG 324F and Simon Mitchels MKG 290F. This was taken at Branch Avenue 2009 in Taunton. I can't speak about Simons Panda but I use mine almost every weekend and have been asked to lead out parades of classics here in Wales.[frame]Image[/frame]
I now have a fully working origional police lightbox matching Simons.[frame]Image[/frame]

Hey guys.

I'm Al, i'm 17 and i've recently bought my first car which is a Moggie 1000. I've had some recent news that she used to be a Police car, and has similar registrations to the two above. Mine is MKG 299F, she has been in the same family for twenty-odd years, in Gwent, and was just wondering if has a similar history/was part of the same or nearby force such as yours.[frame]Image[/frame]

This is Erica, the original colour would have been a 'Trafalgar Blue', but she has had a bit of a novice paint job by a previous owner. I will look forward to hearing back from anyone if possible. :)

Al.

Definitely a Cardiff Panda Car, one of three Cardiff cars now known to exist I believe (it was two until I just seen your post ). All I can say is you're a lucky b*gger, being from Cardiff I would love to own a local Police car.

The original colour would have been like those above in Police colours. When they were retired from service they were sold to civilians, some of whom didn't want to be seen driving an ex-police car so they resprayed them.

Also, as an ex-police car it should have a zip in the headlining and plain black door-cards :)

Have just tried contacting you Matt, but couldn't get through.

The car unfortunately doesn't have a zip in the roof as she's had a new roof lining.

Hi Santa

Yes any info you have would be great. Unfortunately I've lost my storage and can't do any work on her, so it looks like it might be a very brief affair!! Bit more work to do on her than promised, and as I don't have any skills in restoration it looks like I'll be looking for a buyer.

A sad day :( Not a very 'appy bunny.

Hi just an update here...
The picture attached is WPC Jill Keen. She is pictured as the 1st WPC to drive the Morris Panda in the Cardiff City Police Force. Although we cant be sure what reg the car she drove. She was stationed at "B" Division Cardiff.

The other photo is the Line Up at City Hall Cardiff. Your car can be seen as mine is out of shot.[frame]Image[/frame]
