Postby StillGotMy1stCar » Tue Jun 25, 2019 9:16 am

Just spotted this on Ebay. May be of interest!
Appears to be a 1275 Marina block.
Ending shortly and no bids.

Make sure that it is not a Marina 1098cc block.

Good point Phil, I thought because it has the high oil filter location and six bolt flywheel bolt fixing it would a 1275.

Having done some digging:-

The 1098cc engine has the same flywheel arrangement as the 1275cc engine i.e. 6 bolts and 1 dowel. The 1098cc engine has a normal spin on oil filter. The 1098cc engine has diagonally split big ends.

So on the face of it & the evidence gleaned - the engine is a 1275cc pre 'A' Plus Marina engine.

There is still about an hour plus to go before bidding ends so at the moment it is a bargain. :D

Located at Bideford which is a bit of a drive to collect.

the bore spacing seems different from Spridget 1098 or 1275 blocks, being somewhere between the two. Pity he didn't put a pic of the casting number which would have made ident simple !
