Does anyone know how much the 1098cc minor engine weighs??

Also, does anyone have the specific weights for thing like axles, gearboxes, etc.

Thanks,

Too heavy for my feeble 5'8" body height and structure  !
The 1098 cc engine weighs = 245 lb,
Gearbox (same engine size) = 44 lb,
Rear axle = 83 lb,
Total weight of car = 1,708 lb!

I have no idea what that this is in kg, I'm a 'Thatcher child  ' and was taught metric so I have no idea what the conversion is.........ps I flunked maths    !

Thanks an_avenger, the weights in pounds are fine!!

I usually prefer to work in old money anyway, even though I too am a 'Thatcher child' and was taught metric.

You don't happen to know what the weight of the 1275 Ital engine is do you? I would assume that it is about the same as the 1098, but I don't know.

Hard to tell by guessing, but having lugged all types across my garage floor (948,1098,1275 midget and marina) I reckon the 948 was nice and light, the midget was similar to the 1098 and the marina was a few pounds heavier.

I gave my maria lump away when I sold the pickup (aka: sold the many boxes containing a pick up) so I can't stick it on the scales to prove myself wrong.
