As has been explained before, the Insurance scheme with Footman James is a club service (note the heading above the logo). There is no contact for website advertising.

Maybe JLH should provide a 'Club Service' - eg Any Member turning up could have their Minor checked over for Safety Related problems foc! Then your Logo could be up there too Jono - maybe ??

I wrote this some time back, but as yet have not had any explanation of this policy, despite going though the MMOC prefered channels of communication.
The 'official' MMOC line is (taken from the members site 'about the club)
The MMOC has an agreed value specialist insurance scheme to provide members with cover for their Morris Minors. A recent survey conducted by an insurance expert within the Club showed this to operate one of the best policies for classic cars. Insurance valuations for cars outside the Practical Classics price guide, can be arranged.
But I'm not too sure how this squares with this statement , extract from a recent letter to the trade from the MMOC, on a seperate issue, but nevertheless implying the essence of Club policy.
"We also reiterated our stance that we do not recommend individual traders, never have done so in the past and have no intention of doing so in the future.
We do however continue to offer the opportunity for all traders to advertise via our Club magazine and to promote their products and services at branch events and at the National Rally.
The consultation has been a useful exercise in reaffirming the views of a cross section of traders that the Club should retain its independence so far as traders are concerned"
My question is simple , are the insurance companies not regarded as 'trade'. and if not how is a 'prefered' insurer allowed access to exclusive advertising throughout the website, especially so, on the messageboard.
(I understand that technically its on the header but it shows on every page of the messageboard.)
I have made two appeals, for information on the FJ advertising, from a club official and the webmaster, but so far I have yet to receive an official reply.
I have recently chatted with a member of the comittee about this unofficially and am hoping that we may meet to discuss it further.
Clarification of the process leading to the decision to promote the FJ advert would for me, hopefully establish that the MMOC do run a level playing field

Doesn't JLH already do this as far as I know he is the only profesional Morris business on the site offering free advice to anyone who requests it. I realise at the moment he is probably acting as an MMOC member rather than a trader but seems to me there is more to gain than lose by having the JLH Logo displayed in return for the professional advice. Sometimes, Jonathon, I dont think you fully understand how much we, the great unwashed, appreciate your advice and occasional rant. I for one dont believe that the club's position in this matter has been satisfactorily explained and as a member with no axe to grind I have the right to voice my opinion. I fully understand why any club would wish to accept FJ's cash (less money needed in membership fees for a start) but I still feel that the club's policy on trade advertising needs to be consistent and transparent.

I raised the objections to the club promoting its services on its website at the last Committee meeting.
The Club Insurance scheme with Footman James (previously with Aon before the merger) is a service provided by the club for its members. The Club is entitled to promote its services on its own website. The promotion of the Club Insurance scheme has no effect on any trade advertising policy. The only trade advertising policy affecting the website is 'No Traders please' (See the terms and conditions). This is currently interpreted as 'Traders are permitted, provided they do not advertise or otherwise promote their business.

all morris minor information weather from individuals or traders who advertise there buiseness on the web can only promte the morris minor and the club

Why do you keep mixing up traders and the Club Insurance scheme?
The Club scheme is, funnily enough, only available to members, not just anyone who happens to call.

Quiet simple really John, what do FJ, Peter Best, Sykes, etc have in common, they are in the same trade of offering insurance, as bodyshops and suppliers are in the trade of selling services or parts. So it would seem that on one hand the MMOC cannot promote a Minor trader yet blatantly promote a company trading in Minor insurance.
As the scheme is offered as 'The club scheme' I had assumed that it was available to members only, funnily enough.

Trader: someone who purchases and maintains an inventory of goods to be sold.
Once again, the insurance scheme set up by the club with Footman James is a service provided by the club to its members. The club will promote its services however it chooses. Insurance companies have never been considered to be traders.

Question Jon - is the FJ scheme available to members exclusively? as I'm slightly confused by your post.
'cos if it isn't then it is not a club scheme as such its just an advert paid for by the supplier (much better word than trader - 'person engaged in trade' Oxford English Dictionary -i.e. the insurance trade)
