I have a VERY scabby boss who now won't let me have the 26th off so it's going to be debatable as to whether I am able to come up. I passed my theory test and got my practical booked for before then so, if I do pass and I can get up, I can drive on my own!!!

Ray, could you give an update on the number of places left? We're officailly moving out of our Lincolnshire address that weekend, so we're not sure yet if we can make it...

if you're not sure, you can turn up on the day, but you'll miss out on the group discount for the museum ticket so it'll cost £8 instead.
Gaydon is a big place so turning up on the day will be fine, but if you're moving house that weekend :o how will you get a whole day off?

I have my girlfriend eating out of my hand... No no .. erm..

Basically our move is in two parts: The stuff from America should arrive next week to the new house and between then and the end of my Job here on July 20th we'll try to move as much of our stuff as possible. The piano will be the big thing. If we're lucky we can get it all done by the 25th, in which case Nikki, her mog and American will be able to attend :)

Nah. :)

Actually, K and I were commenting the other day about moving the stuff from Lincoln. I said... "wouldn't it be cool to find someone who could lend us a van for the weekend". Not sure a piano plus numberous other things would a) fit and b) not be too heavy.

Ray - I received the tickets today, cheers. I owe you a SAE

I posted this on Sept 08th last year in the 'Chatsworth House 11447' thread as people had suggested a messageboard meeting.
"I've got a cunning plan - why not make it an official MMOC event for messageboard members - then we ask if we can have a demonstration run with NWL576 - the first 'proper' Minor (chassis no. 501). I can't imagine we would be allowed to drive it, but they could give 3 passengers a short ride in the car (repeated to give everyone a ride).

Imagine - travelling in the very first Minor !"
:D

Now that many of us have booked up, what do the people who are attending think of this idea? Would you be interested?

Of course they may tell us to get lost - and it may be that NWL 576 isn't a runner or it can't easily be moved. However I do think it's worth asking....

Same here, thanks mate!

NWL 576 eh??

If we can't get a run in it, then a photo opportunity would be welcomed!! A nice group photo and/or individual ones with us grinning stupidly!

That would be ace! (sorry for the 80s phrase there................).

aha!!! Northerners do know what ace means.... Sorry, we had a very confusing mix up of regional slang at the drama society meeting at uni on tuesday. Apparently the northern word meaing ace is "boss" :-?

It's bad enough for southeners not to know that northeners come from 'the North', as opposed to the Midlands, but when we start joining in!! I give up:lol:

ps - Dan, the North is the bit a long way from you that joins England to Scotland (Lancashire / Yorksire / Cumbria etc..)
The Midlands is the place in the middle of England (not so far from you), and Birmingham is roughly in the middle of it. This is the place where the industrial revolution gathered critical mass and continued spread out to change the whole world, and where we used to make stuff up until about 20 years ago. You can still find a few places that make stuff, but now they're called 'working museums'

Sorry Ray, I do apologise! It's just that everything north of Watford Gap seems to be regarded as 'the North'! So I did not confuse matters, but now I see that I should have! It was Dan that called me a Northener!

Yes, the Midlands is the 'workshop of the world' (well, was). I stand corrected and feel proud to be a Midlander (albeit a North midlander! )

Northerners live north of the watford gap......
So do Scottish people, Welsh people, Midlanders and in fact a huge proportion of the worlds population - there must be billions of 'Northeners' in your definition.
I was hoping that Dan would see the error of his ways, but some others are well known to be a lost cause.
