Re: Pick up Restoration (Part 2)
Good progress there! Im sure you will make the national!
When I did my loom, I spend an age with the haynes manual and other diagrams figureing out the function of each wire, where possible noting the terminal numbers (where available). Then I used masking tape to label each connector. If you can, its worth checking a few connectors to make sure that the loom is correct for the car.
Then thread the long skinny end from the engine bay, to the cabin. then its as simple as matching the tape, to the terminals.

Re: Pick up Restoration (Part 2)
thats a good plan Ash, thanks, I'll mark them up as you suggest, I left the old parts with the wires attached, the colours seem to be the same, so far, I'm going to go over my original strip down images and just verify I have the same loom, but it's looking good so far.[frame][/frame]

Re: Pick up Restoration (Part 2)
I rate ESM very highly, people are always surprised why I say I get spares for the Minor the day after I order them.

Re: Pick up Restoration (Part 2)
I agree, I've phoned an order at 2.30pm and got the parts the next morning. I'm sure things can go wrong, but I don't think many can give a better service
Re: Pick up Restoration (Part 2)

Re: Pick up Restoration (Part 2)
Hello everyone,
Newbie here. Recently bought a 1959 (I think) pickup basket case and I'm just starting the teardown. Lots of rust. This thread has been my inspiration. Thank you for all the information you all provide. Your work is excellent and the information you share is invaluable. I live in California and am slowly learning the British lingo. Bought my first set of Whitworth wrenches (or should I say spanners).

Re: Pick up Restoration (Part 2)
thanks for the kind comment, glad you found this re build an inspiration. she's just had four new tyres, and she's still going strong, working each day, today, she's taking and old fridge to the recycling centre. She's worth her weight in gold, the Pickup, not the fridge.[frame][/frame]
