Hi all, could you please advsie me on fitting 9'' front brake drums to a standard minor? are they a straight swap or do i need to change backplate etc? any advice much appreciated.

There's a lot of controversy surrounding this conversion,the general consensus being that if you can stick with the Woleseley/riley cylinders....do so!

Ultimate rust cure for your moggy....paint it brown, at least that way you dont notice the rust as much!!

They do fit straight on, but yes the backplates must be changed too - only 4 bolts and v easy to do - there is a set of R fronts finishing on ebay in just under 2 hours now...........

Thanks for your help fellas, bmc i knew you would know how to do this! i suppose the aggro side of it is getting good wheel cylinders!

Yes - the R cylinders are expensive and the brakes have been said by some to be a bit 'heavy' - but very very effective. The set on ebay were a screaming bargain selling at £131 and appeared to be fully overhauled with new cylinders and shoes.
