Been given a 700 watt genny, a lil baby to run random stuff off.
Would it be extremely optimistic to try running a cheap hobby mig off it?
Worst case it'll run a grinder and a drill I'm guessing, maybe a tiny HVLP compressor?? I dunno..

Welding off a Generator
What would Macgyver do..?
Re: Welding off a Generator
It should be ok - but the problem is it may 'dip' just when you strike the arc - dropping the arc out again....... Just need to try it and see!

Hello Dunketh,
welders are very hard on generators and 700 watts is tiny so I doubt it will be any use. Good luck with the rest of your tools?

I would hope a Mig on lowish settings might be ok - but no chance with a 'stick' welder..........
