Probably because 948 engines are not really worth rebuilding - for the same cost rebuilds a much better 1098 engine.....

Phone around some of the smaller Morris Minor traders (you'll find details in Minor Matters if you get it). People only ever seem to deal with C Ware, ESM or Bull Motif, or look on ebay... There's a lot of good second-hand stuff to be had out there if you are prepared to leave the computer (of course, you may have already tried that). I've bought 2 948s (both good second hand) within the past few years for £100, from my local Minor specialist.

When using the ladder crossbeam method of motor removal with panels in-place and bringing motor up/forward/away .. where best exactly to support the motor with jack/timber blocks safely once motor undone ? Is sump OK ? Apologies if this appears a dumb question but a sequence of steps in order would really help as to when and where to place supports i.e. trolley jack and blocks. I am contemplating a future 803/948 change if I can find one. 803 has certainly proven to be a limitation with hills ! ! ! . info here was just what I was looking for.
