Lidl Endoscopic Camera in stock again

Post by gtt1951 »

Hello Folks, on one of my "Mechanical" posts last year, I mentioned I had a colour "endoscopic" camera (Not for use on Humans) that I used to look down some of my clogged engine block water channels. Some interest was shown in this item.
Well, as from this Thursday (June 6th), one of the Lidl highlights is the return of the camera. It is being sold for £69.99 (UK pounds) and comes with a number of attachments, including a magnet, mini-dental mirror and some other bits and pieces.
The camera possesses an integral LED light source (selectable brightness) and is waterproof. There is no steering mechanism, as you would find on a clinical version, and the metal bendable appendage is about a metre long.
Although not for use on humans, the first thing I did, when I got mine, was to look in my ear (as you would)!
The original job it was bought for was to look inside the cylinders on a 16V Micra petrol engine whose upper timing chain had snapped, to see if there was any piston or valve damage, prior to doing any repairs.

Just got one today and used it to pick up the headlining tensioning wire at the side of the dashboard, really clear picture, with adjustable brightness of the LEDs and adjustable contrast on the display
