i have just checked the MOT history on my new moggy
the dateless original reg number was changed on 27/08/2008 "following an investigation" just curious what that means. has anyone seen the same?
i think he possibly lived in Gibraltar for a while as there is a sticker on his boot saying something about British resident zone and there is a gap in the MOT history is there anyway to see his history while he was there?
thank you

Re: registration change
I doubt very much whether it relates to a criminal investigation. Could be for a number of reasons.
Most likely, if it had an original registration number and then been abroad, maybe the DVLA issued another number to it on its return to UK. The owner may have then asked them to investigate the return of the original number to the vehicle, but after a thorough investigation, they turned it down. Usually for lack of written proof of the original number on that vehicle chassis number, which could occur if the person didn't really build a good solid case for the original number being reallocated.
Need to see the detail information including all dates, to form a view of why it is, as it is.
