Yesterday I went up to South London and as usual instead of travelling along the M25 went along the old A25.
Called in at the Squires Garden Centre at Reigate for a coffee and was surprised to see a large photo on the wall of several Minor vans in Squires Garden Centre livery.
I asked the manager about the photo and he told me that yes they had (though quite a few years ago now) a fleet of several Minor vans and that they still had one which had been restored. He rang the Badshot Lea branch (Farnham P/C GU9 9JX) and confirmed it was still there and which was brought out on high days and holidays.
I do not know any more details but next time I am passing I will call in and try and get some specifics.
Phil

Well, I didn't know that and I've been shooting, with the Surrey Branch of the Muzzle-loaders, in the adjacent chalk quarry on the 2nd Sunday of every month, for the last 12 years!"
And I have used the Garden Centre, with no sign of this van ... better make a special visit on March 13th!
The following day is a special date as MM Sweetie (the Series MM '51) and me are both 65 on that day!!!!
George.

When you are there can you take some photos of the van and get the chassis detail from the plates under the bonnet.
Wishing you both a happy birthday on the 14th March.
It would be nice also to see some photos of both your Minor and you on the special day.

Re: Squires Garden Centre Minor Van Fleet
Hello folks,
I called in at Aquires on Sunday and only managed to take a couple of pictures of the van parked in the car park. After quite a wait for someone to be found, turned out that the keyholder didn't work weekends!
So no picture of the engine bay.
I missed the bit about a "fleet photo" so did not ask to see it.
The van is being "returned" to their Twickenham branch - so may be able to get more info then as, currently, I work down the road in Teddington.
Pics I took are are below.[frame][/frame][frame][/frame]
