MVA Rally

Post by qwerty165 »

Just got back from a really great weekend at Thorsby park. The weather was great if not a little windy at times and the atmosphere was really friendly and the road run on Saturday was excellent despite getting lost, though I am most grateful to the owner of the Morris 8 saloon BBP 869, who had a satnav. So I thought I would post a few pictures from the rally (being as there seems to have been none from the MMOC rally I hope this is okay).

Was sorry to have missed that one. Did it two years ago, on the Saturday, and really enjoyed it, then went down to Gaydon for the Classic Van and Pickup rally for Sunday, but this year, the Land Rover is still mid engine rebuild so nothing to tow the caravan with, so we settled for a day trip to Gaydon which was another excellent show with many Minor LCVs there.
cheers
Iain

Agreed, it was an excellent weekend. I was supposed to be going in a Morris 10/4 series 11 but we didnt get all the jobs sorted in time and went in a minor!

True, but unlike the map I had it covered more than the west midlands which was rather useful given the location.

Ah in that case it used to be called a 'Road Atlas' and instead of arguing with the inanimate object that is the satnav, whichever sexy Hollywood voice you have given it, you could argue with flesh and blood .... and usually spill some or sit in awkward silence at the end of a dirt track, surrounded by sheep, not, even then, conceding that she, was, yet again, right!
