Hi all, I have just fitted a new carpet set to Doris, I am about to take off the gearbox gaiter and cover plate in order to fit the carpet underneath it to get a tidy job as the carpet in question came without trim around the gearbox hole, this is the norm apparently?
Anyway the carpet I took out had a slot and trim a bit like the handbrake carpet, the new one doesnt.
Does anyone have photos perhaps of their own installation?
Just to get ideas of the neatest finish.
Thanks.

Re: new carpet set
the carpet will be trapped under \ covered by the metal cover plate so it will look neat..
these pictures are from a carpet set i made up..
the first picture shows what it looks like before the cover goes on, the second with it in place.. before anyone asks i did trim it back a bit further before putting the cover on..

Well I did that and it does look rather swish though I say so myself, downloading photos on this website however has over the years become no easier, I shall persist however.

Re: new carpet set
Indeed the surround matches the colour of the car, as the dashboard and doors internally are also smoke grey blue I thought that would be in keeping.
