Hi Naadeslaus
Yes nice convoy. I do not know this caravan, looks like Eriba with bigger front window and wrong side door for us :P
More pics interior?

Hi W- P
The first time that I saw a Knospe caravan, it was with the Minors On Tour 2007 at Cheverny. It belonged to German people. They were also in 2009 at La Garangeoire . Perhaps in 2011 ?...
We go there but once again with beetle+eriba and Morris Minor indeed

Hello everybody
Who goes to the MOT. 2011 at St- Cast -le - Guildo ?

I know I'm bumping a really old thread, but I spotted this earlier...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2O5GCKjVH0

In terms of Morris Minors only 2 seconds of a photo but still interesting as later in the video we learn the caravans' unladen weight is 660.43 kg (and the workshop manual says the maximum towing limit is 610kg :D) so I guess even the oldest Series MM cars made good tow cars.

And to think I was worried about towing a 520kg unladen caravan with my 1098. :)

I would advise that you check the current regulations as regards towing weights as the regulations have changed over the years and that quoted in the workshop manual may not be current.

Here is an overview but for detailed information use the appropriate Gov.UK web site.

I wouldn’t assume from a posed publicity photo that the early MM with its 27 bhp was ever a good tow car. Even if it could move the caravan an MM doesn’t fare too well now in modern traffic on its own, still less while towing.

Coincidentally I have a c1970 Sprite Alpine in my garden. It makes a very useful shed but I wouldn’t fancy a holiday in it. :D

For the sort of money he wants for this I would want it 100% complete and not 95%.....and even then, I would have to be desperate to get rid of £20k. It also states that it is being sold on a 'no reserve' basis but the reserve has not been met yet???!!

I bought a Sprite Cadet in 1989 for £100 complete with fridge! I towed it from Croydon to the north of Scotland without any problems - the laden weight of the caravan was less than 80% of the curb weight of the Midget and it towed really well, the main problem was keeping the speed down :D

I see looking online they bought it originally for just under £9k, either way it's been removed from sale now. If only MM vans were cheap... :D

Even in 1989 that was a real bargain considering that's an original Cadet and not the 80's remake, and now rare enough to be worth a lot more than £100.

the Cadet was from a colleague who just wanted rid of it, came with an awning which doubled the size, portable toilet ( bucket with a lid) and toilet tent that fixed to the side of the van, gas light, and the original tyres!
