I’ve just reread an earlier post here Chris, regarding now working on LCV figures to be included in booklet. I can’t help thinking this is going to take you a fair amount of time. It’s your baby but as a suggestion have you considered treating the commercials in their own booklet, that way the details of the non commercial stuff can be ready to go?
It might make your life easier!

Me too please Chris.

If you are still needing Adderley Park vehicle numbers, let me know. I can get details for a couple of late vans.

Thanks

Compared to owner's of the passenger varients, LCV owners seem to be less willing to help(?) can only conclude there would be little demand for another LCV book.

Fair enough. Just thought it might let you release the saloon booklet sooner.

EXHAUSTING asking for LCV details, only to be ignored or told "I'll get them at the weekend", which NEVER comes...MUCH rather owners would be honest by telling me to pixx off!

That’s another reason not to include them in the booklet, it’s holding you up too much. It appears people are mainly interested in the other variants details, which I assume are ready to go.

Problem is I'd have to "split" production dates, for example, the Glass' guide quotes vins 285700-286300 as 2/70 onwards, yet as these vins duplicated, the production dates for the PO vans using the same vins were 12/70 onwards, therefore most assembled nearly a year later.
So someone owning a 285700-286300 PO mailvan - and remembering most registered May 1971 onwards - would conclude the van had been parked up for 15mths prior to being registered.

Theoretically, it IS possible to get a much more accurate understanding of production figures & dates BUT it all hinges on the amount of information I'm given, and explains why I'm continually requesting details.

As I have said you just need to go with what you got publish it and I am sure you will generate more interest and can work on the updates!

How close are we.....to having the product?

I think folk have seen you constant plea for info as Les says since the 1980s but nowt tangible appears. Guess you can understand how folk feel

I think it inevitable that no matter when released there will be long lost vehicle numbers crop up from time to time, that have evaded inclusion. Similar to the thoughts of Russ, maybe this could be dealt with by updates or supplements.

To be honest, my objective is to get this bumf as accurate as possible, I'd opt to spend 30yrs putting a good reference guide together RATHER than 1yr producing something that's a pile of doo-doo.

By the by, who else finds Fiona Bruce patronisingly smug?

Yes mate and you have had 30 odd years!

Like I said folk have provided info to your requests and see nowt in return. It's not likely to generate much more in the next 30 years.

You need to share you findings now.....or perhaps I was right with my prediction 12th of NEVER, lol
