Perhaps, sad as "virgin" lcv's SO thin on the ground, BUT, at the end of the day, it's the owners' decision...won't go all Don Logan about it!!
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Yes, Kev has kindly printed out our entire database - 170 odd pages of it - plus a draft of the booklet to amend & check for errors, WILL include LCVs as best I can.

Keep you posted as & when, lots going on with family health woes atm..

Weird how some enthusiasts are only too happy to help with my research, yet other's, like Mrs.G it's a slammed door!

Fair dunkum Mrs.G, may one of the greatest mysteries of the world - details of your '71 pickup - remain hidden for the next 2000yrs....locked away along with the holy grail, the ark of the covenant & Columbo's Y-fronts....

Seriously, no worries...🤐
I find your remarks to me very rude and un called for. I am 73 years of age and my children wouldn't speak the remarks you've inuendoed, so be it, if it is another 2000 years, and I'm around, I would still say kindly, thank you but no,
Mrs. G as you've called me

Re: Restoring Morris Pickup 1971 light van or pick up

Post by Greenie »

Finally received DVLA document for Norman.
Can anyone reply to my question.
Light Van or Pickup?

Dvla class Norman as a Light Van although they had all the photographic evidence etc to Bona Fida Norman's class and to make sure we retained original registration number of which we have. Upon making a telephone call to them today, they say if we are unsure to put it in writing, include the log BOOK and they would look into it. Hence my question to all of you owners of a Pickup, what is on your log books?
LIGHT VAN or PICKUP?

Right, further investigation shows chassis plate has MAU5 this represents
A PICKUP, so we do have an argument with the DVLA.
Norman was produced at Adderley Park plant and officially a 1970 the year the plant shut down and all records destroyed. So I'm off to rewrite the Dvla history.

Are you sure about that, mine was an Adderley PK build in 71? No records available from Heritage though.

Yes, ( that's what I'm told) done a lot of research, plus spoken to an old friend who worked there. The vehicles 1970 retained a 1970,s plate, now this is the confusing bit. A few went to dealers on their 71 plate, but most of the remaining received a (K 1972) although they were off the line 1970...will check with him again when I see him, but right now I'm down with a bad virus.
Regards Greenies wife.
Anyone wish to join in with comments, please do so. I only know about ours Norman, chassis no plus( F) at the end

Cheers, thought so, I have some letter writing to do when I feel better, yes they have noted it as an Historic Vehicle
I will make sure I take a copy of the log book along with the copy letter and record delivery in order to keep documents safe.
Regards Greenies wife.
I would like to add
Norman drives well after my hubby, s hard work and all his effort at age 73 great as say in the Black Country (its bostin)
