Adderley Park Number details needed

Post by POMMReg »

Minor LCVs

As most of you know, I've undertaken the task of making sense of Minor's assembled at Adderley Park.
Quite a lot of progress has been made, however, many more details are required.
I don't need registration numbers - nor last 2 digits of chassis number - I DO need the vehicle model, its' complete cab & engine.number.

Thanks.

Chris, what’s the current estimated arrival time of the much anticipated booklet ? It’s all gone a bit quiet!

I’m sure Chris won’t mind me letting you know but I have seen a draft and it is an extremely useful document even with its gaps which Chris has been trying to plug . So I would support his pleas for this data. Most of us have it to hand and it will, when complete serve the whole Minor community well, helping those who may be battling with DVLA as well as those of us simply interested in the methods used back in the day and date cars vans etc accurately.

I know many people have sent the info to Chris already but one last push could fill as many gaps as possible.

Les

Lots of personal stuff going on atm.

Ler's face it, what's the point of producing a booklet only I find of interest. I appreciate Mr.F's enthusiasm, but, in reality, I'm hitting my head against a brick wall, think it's about time to stop.

You know that I’m very interested, but like most people here, I can only give you the details of one van. Why not make it an online resource that can be updated as new info is received? Published as a booklet it’ll be out of date within a few months?

I don’t know what’s put you off Chris, there’s a lot of interest in your work. If you do decide to stop, fair enough. There must be enough information gathered by now to be released in booklet form, with any future additions taking the form of supplements, if you do decide to carry on. A booklet released in its present form would give you some deserved financial benefit, I think I’ve mentioned before, a definitive work would take a lifetime, there will always be another ‘discovery’ down the line, after you think you’ve got them all.

Currently selecting images - sadly no Abingdon chassis plates to illustrate - but getting there slowly.
As stated previously, had hoped to put bodyshell codes into month/year range, ie via the Z12345 nos. can determine vehicle approx age.
Though it DOES appear bodyshell codes ran alongside each other.

Need assistance on 1950-64 vehicles, info required being model, 1st 3 digits of vin & the "Z" prefixed nos. please.

To be fair, booklet can only be as accurate as the info available.

Thanks Russ...

LCVs OE## /0123456 & OE##/123456G Abingdon needed, PLUS Hindustan built Minor's.
Have had to either draw id plates or nab them off google images.

Loads on my old mobile, any way of recovering these downloads?

Cheers

Thanks Russ.

According to all these Minor publications, only 50 pickups assembled at Abingdon, yet 10 still exist, doesn't make much sense!!

Hi Chris

Very much still interested in the booklet, can't wait to see it.

Re the details for 50-64 vehicles, I assume this is all models ? If so, I'll dig out what I can and email them across to you. Should hopefully be able to find 6 or 8, possibly more.

Cheers

Must remember all this info I'm trying my best at making sense of was destroyed 45 odd yrs ago, FRESH & MUCH more accurate info is what's needed, this is where the benefits of knowing cab & engine nos. come in handy!!!
