Any ideas what to use to protect gearbox and the diff alloy casing. Id rather not paint them unless thats wrong. As always any advice gratefully recieved.

Or could use matt lacquer???.

But if you’re looking for a OEM concourse look ....the Gearbox should be bolted to the engine ....then spray engine with some of the engine components ( l can list ) now the over spray will fall on the gearbox .
Then BMC turned the engine Upsidedown to dry, I have some pictures somewhere where the Paint runs on the sump are upside down.....
