Newbie

Post by MontyMorris68 »

Thanks for allowing me to join the forum. I have just bought my Minor (Monty) 1968 in Trafalgar Blue.
The car has had 4 owners from new and I am the new proud 5th owner. There a few things that the car needs to be done, one being the grill which has a few rust spots coming through the cream paint, the rim of the wheels need rubbed down and re painted and the chrome round the bumper and the back lights needs re done other than that the car is in good condition giving it it 52 years old. I am open to help with how to the best way is to go about sorting the little things out with the car.
Thanks again
Morris

Your car looks lovely, congratulations and hello.
A bad day with my Volksie still beats a good day at work!

What a good looking car. If that is all that requires attention, then you have been very fortunate!
Enjoy your new purchase :)

Nice looking car, I'd just use it and enjoy as is for now.
Replacement new chrome bumpers can rust quite quickly and be a bit of a disappointment, especially considering what they cost.
The new chrome these days tends not to be of the same quality as the originals, so if yours still polish up well with the likes of 'Autosol' I wouldn't be in any rush to replace them.
Also beware the 'fit' of replacement grills, it might be better to refurbish / repaint your original one.
Best wishes,
Mike.
