Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
If you are still worried please do contact your doctor/emergency health number, otherwise if it gets better just say 'phew' - a couple of days of discomfort is nothing compared to having so-called mild non-hospitalised Covid in our experience. Let alone needing oxygen and the rest, as some of our friends have needed.

Had mine yesterday. Woke up shaking like crazy and with a fierce headache. Also feel like I've been kicked around like a football. Ouch!
Glad I've finally had it. AZ. Age 52

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
I hear they are reporting more blood clots relating to AZ in the UK today. No deaths yet though, that I've heard of.
I still think it's better to have the vaccine than not though, despite it knocking us for six for a couple of days after.
Better that than full blown Covid!
Which, even when you are over the virus itself, can leave you with some rather nasty long term momentos health / fitness-wise.
Which means I will trust the medical staff to be aware of any clotting risk and be ready to deal with it.
So when it's time for my second jab I will be straight down the vacination centre for it, without hesitation.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
The biggest problem seems to be getting accurate information. From different reports, within a few minutes of each other, both from the BBC, one radio one TV:
There have been 30 cases of clots with AZ
There have been 22 cases of clots with AZ
There have been no deaths.
There have been 7 deaths.
There is no cause link.
There is now a link.
The rate of clots with AZ is the same as background levels.
The rate with AZ exceeds background levels.
Reported cases have been in young women, where use of the contraceptive pill could be a factor.
Apparently there are similar risks with vaccines for other diseases, but they never get mentioned.
Everyone seems agreed that having the vaccine will cause fewer deaths than not having the vaccine; or to put it the other way, having the vaccine will save hundreds of thousands of lives.

Best intelligible and practical advice that I've seen or heard is from Professor of Public Health Linda Bauld in Edinburgh and Virologist Doctor Chris Smith in Cambridge, who have a slot at around 0900/0930 on BBC1's Saturday morning Breakfast program. Some of their sessions are on YouTube and Twitter .... Googleify if interested.

Finally, finally had it yesterday. Arm feels like I’ve been kicked by a donkey. Moderna, age 51.
Was booked up for AZ but they pulled it, then said it was okay, then pulled it again after 4 days. it and it seems Pfizer or Moderna only until the wind changes again.

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
I had my first jab on the 27th March and having the second on the 1st June. When I had the 1st I felt a little rough a couple of hours after but a couple of tablets and was fine but next day felt tired but that evening I felt if I was getting flu and at 3 in the morning I was drenched in sweat but by 10 was back to normal. I was a little anxious about having it as when I was 3 I had a smallpox injection and had a severe allergic reaction and nearly died.

We should be on our way to Lanzarote this week , not much chance now , even though we've both had the two jabs , and at the risk of sounding racist I blame the recent rises on the " ghetto " communities who have not heeded the call to get vaccinated and refuse to stop socialising , never mind wearing face masks...

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
At the end of the day I think we have all had enough, mentally and emotionally, with lockdowns and restrictions. We should be on our way to Lanzarote this week , not much chance now , even though we've both had the two jabs , and at the risk of sounding racist I blame the recent rises on the " ghetto " communities who have not heeded the call to get vaccinated and refuse to stop socialising , never mind wearing face masks...
Time for it to end!
Those who can't have a jab for whatever medical reason will have to take precautions of some form or other and for those people, I'm sure, we all have sympathy.
But it is time this was downgraded to 'endemic' status and treated like the yearly round of the flu, for which we may end up having a yearly 'booster' for to deal with the 'variants'.
Failing that we will simply have to knuckle down and learn to live with it.
Those who choose to, as you state above, not have the vaccine, for whatever reason, religeous, political, etc. etc., they will just have to chance it.
If that is what they choose, it is their choice and should not be used as a reason to restrict the rest of us forever.
It's their funeral and serves them right.
To my mind it is the same as smoking, tantamount to comitting suicide.
Best wishes,
Mike.
PS: I never realised that there were so many medical 'professors' and other 'experts' on hand and available at the drop of a hat to offer their opinion......

The Anti-Vaxers are getting more aggressive. Apparently it's their right to try and force others not to have a jab.....
This video is quite telling, but turn your sound down as she's got a loud hailer.....

I think you can see it without being logged in. So this woman is an anti-everything government conspiracy type, yet she's quoting statistics from the government website.... Ummm

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
I felt so sick after getting my 2nd dose of vaccine last month. I've been on bed rest for two days. I'm just happy that I somehow have the immunity now, but I'm still careful when going out.

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
A sad side effect of all these lockdowns and health warnings will be some people thinking twice about leaving their house just to go out. I wonder how many will never go abroad again?
Personally though I don't think you can live like that and I can't wait to burn my mask, after which point I won't accept being 'muzzled' again.
Stuff the virus.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
Finally got my second dose, was quite a wait for those in their thirties.
Still feels premature to de-mask and risk hurting others when only ~50% of the population are vaccinated. I read the higher R rate of the Delta variant means we'll need to be at over 80% coverage (that includes immunity from infection, but lets choose to risk as few people as possible) before we can think about herd immunity.
Hardly patriotic or nice to endanger others over a dislike for a little bit of cloth on your face when inside public spaces.
