[Can't get the image to open up - can anyone help?]
Used to be the case with 'fake plates' on both film and TV, but I've done some spot checks on period registrations while watching stuff on TV and it seems that more recent productions are often genuine.

As to the image upload, I'm afraid the site is playing up yet again. I just tried to upload an image that I uploaded a week ago and it won't load.

these two live on the street in Pontypridd and the van reg 282H shows this. The car 227H seems in reasonable condition but the van needs a fair bit of work .I guess the owner is a member as a mmoc sticker on the car

Interesting that the car is an H Reg (1969/70), because from those rear lights it's a pre Oct 63 car. So an A plate at most. More than likely a 3 letter/3 Number originally.
That might explain why it's in good condition, it was probably off the road so long it had to get a random old plate when restored. Or the owner took it as a 'cherished' registration, i.e. one that could get sold.
Pre-1990s, DVLA didn't have a rule baring vehicles having registrations that were newer than the vehicle.

Ahh, OK.
Wouldn't be unknown for a car to have a later registration.
My Basil is a '55, but cutting a long story short his original plate was transferred as a cherished number and he was given an A(63) Plate. Only about 20 years ago during a major rebuild did that A Plate get changed for an 'age related' i.e. 6 character plate. Hence the name Basil as he's 'BSL ***'.

Just watched the excellent 'Day of The Jackal' - the original, not the rubbish remake - and this lovely car popped up. It's parked on Whitehall, just on the entrance to Downing Street.

The number plate does not show as current on the MOT checker which is a shame

Yesterday, Sunday Morning, spotted a white convertible, hood down, on the A17 in Lincolnshire.

I was hoping to grab a screenshot of it from my webcam, but unfortunately I was on the road so long the mornings videos had been over written.

I spotted a Minor recently outside a garage with its bonnet up. Had a bit of a surprise when I went over to have a look :o
It looked very standard and ordinary on the outside :D

Think I spotted that one on Saturday afternoon.

Unfortunately I wasn't in ours (Betty, 65 converted saloon)

I've seen it few times (always in the same place) whilst out on my bike....but either never had my phone on me or been too busy. Today was the day!
It is an absolutely beautiful lime flower green traveller park outside Millhouses park, Sheffield about a mile from my home.

That is very striking 8) An odd combination though: You've blanked the reg number so maybe it is an earlier car painted in a late colour(?) but, on the face of it, I assumed it was a late production model (late colour, late interior mirror and front lights) but then spotted the early clap hands wiper pattern! Mix and match!
