you could try 14" Maestro / Montego wheels instead (if you didn't like the look of 13" wheels)Marina 13" wheels.

i was going to go the fiat twin cam route on my 68 2 door, but due to ins company not playing ball, i'm stuck for funds.
i am running about in a cosmetically challenged MR2 which will in all likelyhood fail its mot in jan.
i did think about mid engined minor-but after a two year rebuild on the previous project(which went up in flames 2 months ago) i want something simple, so anyone know what gearbox fits an MR2 1600 twincam?
i hear the capri axle fits right in to a minor-is that right?
if it goes to plan, i'm looking at using coil-overs at the rear & using the Mr2 front suspension

thanks for that twincamman, i'll have a look.
today i started looking at the minor properly(having given up on the ins co cheque for the time being) its going to be a do a bit here-when funds allow-type project now. the boot floor is knackered along the back edge & both corners, also along the offside, where it joins to the inner wing, so a new floor looks likely, now i have to decide if i'm going the fuel cell route or stay traditional moggy tank....

Got some more work done over the last few days - Rear axle sprayed and the rolling chassis assembled. I had to get the threads on the top of my struts cleaned up - cost me £30 for a die , and an insert made (brother did this on his lathe) for one of the spring caps.
Suspension is not fully bolted up as I won't do this until weight is on the car. I'll then have to sort out wheelbase side to side, and adjust front suspension camber etc.
I'm starting to get nervous about my new engine - hope it is going to fit as I didn't realise that it has loads of clutter at the front end - ah well with my luck it will be for sale again. Snag is, I've sold all of my 351 gear - and didn't make a loss - Ebay is wonderful.
Pics:
Axle in primer
Axle painted (body colour) and chassis resting on my frame I made for the body
Chassis on ground - thanks to my wife for giving me a hand - It's heavier than you think
Getting wheels back on axle was hard enough - I can just lift it with a struggle - no way with wheels on.
just after this pic was taken, the chassis slipped and I caught my wrist between chassis an wheel - quite sore!!
Front end assembling
Rear end - one of the upper links is missing as I am getting thin nuts made up out of stainless to lock them off
Assembled and rolled under body frame
I'm getting the shell back this week - have to wait for a dry day (some chance ))
Got my shell back today - not much rain - some pics:
Placed beside my mate's series 2 (1953 with Fiat TC)
Mate's Minor - now sold as he has MS and can't use it - I did loads of work on this 20 years ago, and it has been stored since - has been vandalised in storage however, and it got damp.
Swinging around
Arriving home on Chris's pickup
Loaded onto frame
In garage over chassis
