Good luck with the truck, I wonder how much of the original will remain! Will be interesting to see. Looks like you have a friendly garage to hand already!

Oh my David. What was the car that Ron used to drive - wasn't that a Minor? you have some work ahead of you. Chris and Miles are working on an old BMW right now for when Miles gets his license. Good luck with it - I'll show the kids when they get home.

My hat's off to you for taking on this project.
I've had nothing but a fun time getting my pickup back on the road, and though yours needs a bit more TLC than mine did, it will be rewarding when it's done. :D
If you are married, I hope your significant other is as supportive of you as mine was (begrudgingly, of course). I did have to hide a few expenses.

That pic of the truck being pulled out of the field looks as though it has been pulled out of the centre of the earth :o

Massive kudos to you for daring to take this on, and as someone else said, kudos to any immediate family who are going to have to get used to being a very long second behind your new love 8)

Keep the photos coming, it's brilliant stuff :D

Congratulations and good luck on your undertaking. It was good to see it pulled out. It reminds me of a correspondence I had with a chap in Florida back in the early 80's. He found a pick up and decided it was too far gone and let it be crushed and got insulted when I mentioned that someone else may have considered it otherwise and that it was a shame he allowed it to be destroyed. He should see your find.
Feel free to consider any modification. I built a complete new floor for a van once and since the leading endge of the bed was shot, I extended the floor all the way to the rear spring cross member and shortened the bed floor to suit. Your potential here is 4wd chassis, extend the wheelbase, use 2 door doors, extend the cab, or pure stock. There was one truck in Rhode Island in the 70's where the owners constructed a new frame from a flat sheet of steel and a hacksaw. We know how you will spend your free time. Enjoy.
It would be nice if we could reregister a vehicle that easily here in the States. Once the paper work trail is broken, it gets very expensive. They're biggest concern is you might have stolen it. All they would have to do is look at it to know that is not an issue.

Thanks Yanks, I'm not surprised there's a big following for Morris pickups in the U.S. Ther're pritty cool.
here's a shot taken by my daughter Kay Miles age 12 as the sparks start to fly. The propsharft bolts were rusted in.
Image
hi Russell, I'll be send you some pictures later, cheers, I'd appreciate any assistance in the history department.

Helen G, thanks for the ebay steer, very interesting to see the bed like that, great help in locating the body attachment holes, mine are so covered in rust I can hardly make them out.
