I bought some scrap steel from a place in Southampton called Metal Supermarkets... Here's a link!

When I was first welding they did me a big load of sheet, tube and bar to practice on for a tenner! Happy days!

I use 0.8mm on outer panels and 1.00 mm on floor or chassis areas.....

Try a local bodyshop for scrap panels to cut up - but they may be a bit 'thin'! Modern cars usually are.

Sorry... by scrap, it was off cuts of new sheet etc... Now exactly scrap!!! They have a massive selection... Everything you need!

I'ms ure we have some scrap bits of body panel kicking around if its just for welding practice. I'll have a chat with my brother....

Why? Original appears to be 1.2mm - at least on the LCVs. And I'm pefectly well aware that nobody ever believes that...
