Running flush...

Post by llanallgo1 »

What, pray, is the trick to flushing a half full petrol tank and pipes in a 1954 series 2? What is wise to do and what is not wise? (as an admitted Triumph person I know about not undoing certain Triumph tank bottom taps for fear of ruining the thing etc). My motor runs, but only for the time it takes for the petrol in the little by pass tank above the carb I use to run out! Oh, and are there any heroes in the west London area? I'm in Isleworth. DF

I would look first to see if the pump is doing its job properly and check the filter isn't blocked also....

Pump all the fuel out into containers - and just run some new fuel through.
