Lets take a break to get back to the subject -
The spare wheel bracket looks to be a great idea and most useful to most minor owners - but what about us with commercials? We don't have the same bracket holding our spares in/on.
The small piece in '57s picture is what I understand was original for all commercials. When I was cleaning out my ute before restoring, amongst the scratch-and-win cards, sparkplugs, screws, coins, bits of paper etc, I found this funny little thing and thought it looked like one of those blanking brackets (but without the screw hole) for the back of your computer when you take a card out. I put it aside with the more valuable loooking junk and later discovered that it was an actual original part. Looked too modern and 'simple' for a genuine BMC part. I haven't used it yet — have been using dads 'big blue'.

Good idea - I guess the socket for the minor nuts is opposite the cut down one so you still have two side handles for spinning them.
It would take a dutchman to think of that one!
I used the sparewheel bracket the other day when Dad's car got a flat - works good, but it took a lot of turning to get the holding bolt out especially when I didn't need to use the spare.

Well I thiught I might just add to this debate! The Minor wheel has 3 flats, and on indent! This indent is used to insert the 'flat tool' that most have mentioned to remove the hubcap, simple! This refers to LCV as I no nowt about other Minors
