you can get thicker torsion bars. either from a marina van (i believe) or you can buy remanufactured ones brand new in different diameters. but they're pricey!

to up the stiffness on the rear you can fit the 7 leaf springs off a traveller.

and then you've got 'off the shelf' spax kits for front and rear.

there can be registration implications when changing suspension components, this is worth checking

whats the plan for the engine? Zetec?

Hi, I've just changed my engine from fiat twin cam for a ford focus ST170 zetec into my Morris and I've found that the engine is about half the weight, so I'll need to lower the front of my car by 1" 1/2. As for suspension I've got stanard torsion bars with mini spax on the front & marina spax with standard 5 leaf springs on the back and it handles great

i do not believe you can get the necessary parts to convert the marina van torsion bars to fit the minor, they were sold through ESM but i can not find them listed.

Chris - you are allowed to say - I asked the direct question . You won't be advertising anything. You will simply be providing an answer to that question.
But anyway - if you are involved in the Minor trade in any way - are you not supposed to state that in your posts??

The almighty mods haven't told me to...

Anyway, yes the Birmingham Morris Minor Centre stocks different torsion bars. 50%, 75% and 100% uprated.

And yes, I work for them. Don't let that affect your judgment, i'm merely informing you that they supply them, even if i didn't work there i'd be telling you that they do them.
