Hi, i ve got the chance to purchase a 1969 traveller and wanted some advice please.
Its got 11 1/2 months mot on it, i had a look around it yesterday, its looks like its had a bit of filler on the inner front arches ? i don t know whether this was to blend in the welding its had there , and the front shocker looks like it as hit the the underside of the arch at some point, missing the rubber buffer ? is this a problem?.
Also when i lifted the carpet there was a pool of water, would this be coming from the roof joint, its been standing for a while so i assume its not coming in from underneath. The price is £2250, it s been resprayed with an aerosol can in places and the timber seems ok but its been painted in that horrible grain effect paint, (scumble i think its called).
So the question is, is it worth the money? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

Re: Traveller purchase
What is the wood like, especially around the joints?
Have a good look underneath for patches that may be covering up holes, this is enough to get a car through the MOT but far from best practice.
Lift the carpet and check how sound the floor is, particularly over the cross member.
If you post your location someone may be able to give it a look for you.
Not a bad price if it isn't rotten.

Hi, thanks for your reply, i ve had a look underneath and did nt see much evidence of welding, once i saw the water in the rear floor pan i stopped looking, the wood looks/sounds ok, to me anyway. The location is in the wolverhampton/Walsall area.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
