act now if your gearbox steady cable looks like this

One of those things that doesn't matter until you have to stop quickly. An MOT tester wouldn't tell you about this as its nothing to do with safety. Indeed my car passed with no advisories with this rusted in 2 halves (as one would expect)
Get it checked, they are a fiver but the damage caused by emergency breaking could well trash your radiator without it!!!
