Should have guessed! :D

I was wondering if the first edition had a different set of instructions for folding the hood? Looking at a load of early photos it may be that the hood wasn't originally screwed to the rearmost metal hood rail. I didn't screw mine down and it is very easy and tidy to fold it but the later cars seem soooo much more difficult.
I've got editions 6 and 7.

Ta. :D

You need to try edition 2,3,4 or 5 then as it doesn't even mention it in the first edition.
Mine has a print date of December 1948 if that helps?

No mention of the hood in second & third editions. Seventh edition mentions the hood.

Edition 4 no mention, yes in Edition 7 and it isn't shown with screws in first hood frame from rear :(

Thanks for the input, everyone. Much appreciated.

Having no screws in the rear metal rail makes it very easy to fold in a tidy manner and there is a huge amount of spare space within the hood cover bag. The clear panel is also not folded over so that will last longer. I just wondered why on earth there are screws in those rails on some cars?
