Cant find any comments on search regarding this so...
Has anyone fitted classic mini front seats that have the head restraints, if so how did you attach them to the floor? Will the floor fitting that the seats bolt down to align with the minor ones?
The mini seats are thin backed and would be ideal as I don't want to loose space in the rear.
Thanks for any constructive/helpful advice
Dave

Re: Front seats with headrests
Common seats are ford ka seats small yet perfectly sized and comfy and folds forward and very easy to fit. Another option are mg midget seats they have head rests fitted and have the old look to them but not sure what kind of prices they go for now
Good luck I'd guess mini seats would fit with very little work I know metro seats get fitted so can't be much different

Re: Front seats with headrests
I think any non Minor seat will need a sub frame of some sort, as the Minor seat is shaped to fit the lower rear floor. Not hard to make, though. I haven't fitted mine yet, but I've got a pair of MGB seats with headrests.

here is a link to how to fit alternate seats..

as mark wilson points out they all make use of a subframe.

Re: Front seats with headrests
Thanks for the advice/comments
I was hoping someone could tell me if the mini seats had a similar height at the rear to the minor, they appear to have a similar curve to the seat frame, the front fitting could be easily modified.
If anyone has a late classic mini they can take measurement from I'd really appreciate it.
TIA
Dave

Re: Front seats with headrests
I needed quick use of the seats /car and ended up with a perfect condition Subie pair and theybolt right to the floor. Now i am beginningnto want a little more originality so i am wanting to backtrack and see how to fit head rests into a traditional seat. Anyone to share how they di this? Thanks in advance. Forester seats are amazing but the rear seat is eliminated really.

Re: Front seats with headrests
i am not aware of anyone that has ever modified a moggy front seat to take a head restraint.. i am not sure i would feel comfortable either, if the angle and support etc are not just right, you might end up making the situation worse in the result of an accident. having said all that this company sells after market head restraints..
