leaking convertible hood
i've recently had a couple of pools of water inside my converted saloon after heavy rain, even though the hood is only a couple of years old. there don't appear to be any obvious gaps and cracks for the rain to get in, so it may be that the hood itself needs a waterproofing application. does anyone recognise this problem? and if so, is there any recommended hood sealant to use?

Re: leaking convertible hood
Any signs for where the water is coming in? Where is the water collecting? Is this whilst standing or whilst driving?

it's while the car is standing. the main pool of water is in the rear passenger well, and its hard to see how it got there. also, a lesser amount in the well behind the driver, a bit closer to the seat. i would have thought, had the rain got in through the side of the car, there would have been wet patches nearer the doors, but can't make any out.

Check the rain isn't getting in through the 1/4 light rubbers and 1/4 light to door top seal. Water may be collecting under the carpet and running down to the rear floor pans.
Check also the side window seals which can drip in heavy rain.

Re: leaking convertible hood
gave the hood a good coat of renovo waterproof stuff, and it's made a big difference.
some rain gets in through the side windows and quarterlights when its blowing as well, but the hood treatment has cured most of it.

Never have worked out how my old Landy fills with water on wet and windy days. I guess the only sure way to keep the rain out is a garage.
