Does anyone know how to stop rust between seam below rear window, caused by rear seal leaking?

rust
The basic principles with rust are always the same....remove as
much of the rust is possible by all means at your disposal and then
kill any remaining rust with Jenolite. Paint as quickly as is possible
after the Jenolite treatment.

Hammerite is so wrong in so many ways.
It is a poor finish, It does not do what it says on the tin.
My dad is an engineer and re-furbishes miling machines, lathes etc.,
as soon as he sees hammerite, he knows a bodger has been at work.
It is just rubbish and rust forms under the thick skin.

Smoothriite is ok though.
Use of hammerite/ smoothrite as a tough underbody coating is not a bodge, provided the rust has been dealt with properly.
IMHO, when you see fresh underseal, that is the sign of a bodger- i.e. every MOT station in the land!
Hannerite underneath the car looks a lot better than underseal too! and is used by Rob Thommason.
