TRAVELLER WINDOW RAILS

Post by GELLIAURANDI »

Hi ! My window rails are looking a bit sad. Do you call them "rails" ? They need replacing. Is it a big job ? I have read that the drain holes should always be kept open ? Any advice as to procedure would be gratefully received.
Diolch / Thank you.

Hi Gellia,
they are called "window channels" and are available from Morris Minor parts suppliers. They come in a roll.

The old channels might be difficult to remove, then again if they are rusty they might just pull off in parts!

I recently fitted a set to the new wood on my traveller (it now looks like a car again!) and they are screwed into place into the wood. Drill through the drain holes in the wood through the channel to provide a drain hole for water. Don;t make my mistake and fit the glass, then have to drill the holes with the glass in place!!
Cheers John - all comments IMHO
