Water in rear box section under back seat

Post by Handy »

Where does this water come from??
I have drilled a couple of 10mm holes in the floor of my 2 dorr Moggy and I shall be waxoyling it as soon as it's dried out completely.
I started with an 1/8" pilot hole and water drained out for 5 minutes or so.

Ian

thats a well known rust trap (the water may be coming through your rear window ?) ... poke it all underneath with a screw driver to check its not rotten, then squirt lots of waxoyl into the box section - if you dont sort it your spring holders will rot and come away.

cheers

Ian, for detailed answers have a look at the 'tips' section for the thread 'look under the back seat before buying the car'.
