I recently set out to order a new boot lock, the supplier however suggested my none locking issue may be down to an upside down lock, does this look the right way up?

If I remember right, you need to rotate the lock in the handle. First you need to remove it from the boot lid. Take it apart and have a good look at it. (Lock not time)

There is a square bar that slides when you turn the key. It can be assembled the wrong way such that the handle will not lock in that position and so it was on some cars. Rotating the handle 180° is the easy solution. Otherwise there is a swage that needs to be undone so that you can get to the bar to correct the orientation. But then your car won't be original.

Yes it does, well sort of.....you just have to tell it that's what you want.

It's another indicator of this message board being run on antiquated software. On more up to date boards, they don't change automatically, but you can just click on DST (Daylight Saving Time) in the Control Panel.

Thanks geoberni, I would never have guessed that in this age of wonderful technology I would have to adjust it myself. I’ve got into the habit of making a mental adjustment now so I don’t think I’ll bother.

Changing a clock manually? Whatever next? It's just like those antiquated cars where one has to adjust the points gap and tappet clearances instead of relying on electronic management systems and hydraulics.

The iPad somehow magically knows when the clocks have changed and I didn’t know this was any different, not being well versed in the arcane mysteries of the computer-machines.

Of course if the club was properly aligned with Minor era technology we should have paper with pale mauve print, lovingly hand duplicated on Gestetner apparatus.

Must close now, the computer needs more coal.
