I have had great success with Evo-Stik Timebond (not the usual impact adhesive).

And on the flip side, I tried using Timebond and all I got for my troubles was a seal that fell out on me.

In the end my car had to go in for restoration, so I don't know what sealant they used for the new seal, but I got a whole different boot lid in the end (if I remember right) as part of the restoration.

Tiger Seal would do the job but you might have difficulty stripping it back off, if you ever wanted to.
Best wishes,
Mike.

thanks for all the replies, i think i shall use the tiger seal, scuff up the paint where the seal will sit, and hopefully it will bond :tu1:
