D25 distributor O ring size.

Post by wrenchman »

I hope someone will be able to help me. I have just refurbished a spare 1098 engine. The distributor O ring on a replacement electronic distributor is way oversize and will not fit into the engine. The original points distributor has a much thinner one with a wall thickness of about 1.4mm. Every one I have purchased so far are all to large.
If anyone can tell were I can get hold of the thin distributor O ring it will be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.
regards john

So the rubber o-ring for shaft of the Lucas 25D?

I think the last one I bought from here: http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/513682A.aspx

Note that there is also a housing that the distributor shaft goes into. That housing 12A1135 which seats in the block also has an oil control o-ring 13H2792 on the later versions. Early engines do not have the o-ring on the distributor housing. I mention it because it can be a source of leaks.

I use a 23x2mm O-Ring on the 25D dizzy. Get one in Viton if possible.
