Seatbelt rear mounting bracket for convertible

Post by Mr Spigot »

I want to fit front seatbelts to my 1952 convertible and have all the details about fixing points from the manual (Section R.35). The question I have is where I can obtain a suitable bracket to raise the top mounting so it sits a little higher than just below the bottom of the window sill? I have seen them in photos on the Quickfit website (see below) with a bracket that raises them up a few inches but have been unable to find anything similar. While the obvious answer would be to get Quickfit to fit them, they are nearly a 3 hour drive away and need the car for a full day. I can get a local garage to fit them, but would like to get the mounting points sorted first.

ESM fitted mine for me. My car is a 69 convertible. I can take a few pictures at lunch break if that would help?

OK I have taken some photos. Due to the fact that my car is 1969 it already had front seatbelts from the factory. These were in poor condition and replaced with inertia reel type. I cannot recall what they charged because they fitted rear seatbelts as well and some other jobs too.

Thanks. Yes that seems to be the conventional fitting, either drilled into the side of the sill with one bolt or bolted underneath with two bolts. I am after a bracket that raises it, so the belt comes down over the shoulder from a slightly higher point, as in my original photos.
