Hi there,
behind the battery the Minor has a big hole.
can i close this hole or is this risky ? I have a ´59er 2-Door with a Smith heater (the round one)
Need the hole ?

Yes, you can close the hole. The hole should be covered to prevent engine fumes getting inside the car.

OK, thanks for the fast answer. For what was the hole original? On my Minor the hole was closed with a pice of rubber.

The hole was from the early days of the "rotodip" process, I believe, where the car bodies passed through tanks of various stuff (phosphate, primer etc) suspended like a roasting pig on a spit.
