Re: Large patch of rust on rear bumper
Try rubbing the patch with ordinary kitchen foil. It works for small rust marks and may give you a good enough finish.

Re: Traveller Side Window Channel Fixings
Looked a the plans and the 'Body Side Assembly' page (pp50?) lists a bunch of screws but it doesn't give their locations, so I can't work out which ones are for fixing the channels. Will probably therefore use No.6 x 1/2".
No drain holes, so that's on the 'to-do' list

Traveller Side Window Channel Fixings
Hi,
What's the best method of attaching the side window channels please: copper tacks, screws, ....?
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Sikkening
Hi, HLS used neat should dry within (I think) 16 hours, assuming it's not old stock that has gone off. If mixed with water based Cuprinol it will stay sticky (I tried it on a scrap piece of wood out of interest!). I never got a reply from Woodies, so I'm none the wiser on their current guidance but ...

No worries, thanks for replying Phil P
Re: Sikkening
ManyMinors : Morris Minor Traveller: The Complete Companion was published in 2012, so not that ancient but possibly before the switch to water base. I've messaged Woodies and will see what they come back with. Phil P : Thanks for the pic, did you use it neat and how many coats of HLS and Filter 7 p...

Hi, Taking advice from the chapters on woodwork by Steve Foreman in the Morris Minor Traveller book by Ray Newell, I intend to apply Sikkens Cetol HLS followed by Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 plus. However, the result using the products (both 006 Light Oak) in neat form as per the manufacturer's recommend...

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
Best intelligible and practical advice that I've seen or heard is from Professor of Public Health Linda Bauld in Edinburgh and Virologist Doctor Chris Smith in Cambridge, who have a slot at around 0900/0930 on BBC1's Saturday morning Breakfast program. Some of their sessions are on YouTube and Twitt...

Re: I would like to change the Old style fuse box to modern blade fuse box
FWIW, an option for you would be to remove the Control Box (because you are using an alternator) and install a Lucas 7FJ Fuse box. It provides a number of spade connectors, fits in the same space as the removed Control Box and looks period.

Traveller Bootwell Repair Panel
I need to repair the back edge of the boot, using a panel like the one below, prior to replacing some of the wood. It won't be the first time this area has been repaired but it was done before I owned it, so I can't see how the panel should be attached to the wheel arches. Can someone tell me if it ...

Re: Door catches
I don't have an issue with my passenger door, which closes easily with a gentle push, but my driver's door was similar to yours. One way to help work out what needs adjusting in which direction is to place a piece of plasticine on the B pillar 'receiver' to try to work out where the door 'pin' is hi...

Re: Marina carbs/exhaust etc
What is this trick? Take some copper wire - a piece from a length of 2.5mm T&E cable stripped of its insulation is ideal but use whatever you have available Form it into a circle that is slightly larger than the hole in the manifold and slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the bell end...

Re: Marina carbs/exhaust etc
I have a (cut down, i.e. inlet removed) 12G3538 manifold with an ESM large bore stainless downpipe and I use a ' GEX7790 ', which at the time of writing is £12 including postage. I did have some challenges with seating the downpipe to the manifold, mostly I think due to the shape and inflexibility o...

Thanks both for the prompt replies.
I am going to use thin black sound deadening pads (not overly concerned about originality), so based on your comments I'll try some left over rubber backed felt underlay that I've got. It's about 10mm thick so worth a go.
Thanks again!
