Re: Type 9 to mk2 escort back axle prop shaft

Count the splines on the gearbox then take the flange off the back axle so they can match the holes up. The company you take them to should be able to make up a new complete propshaft. That's what I did, mine cost me £180 :D

Re: My Traveller (Emilia) - Now with added ZETEC

Hi mate. I've been reading your post excellent stuff. Looking at your pedal box and the distance between the inlet manifold it's gonna be tight for carbs or injection system ? I've got an st170 in my Morris running bike carbs and the pedal box is made up from marina pedals and fiesta servo and I'm s...

Re: Scotland National

That made me laugh, one of the mmoc members who won a prize travelled 200 miles well done ! I spent £165 on fuel and 9hrs driving down and 8 1/2 hrs, 750 miles round trip coming back up to Scotland. I'm sure there's a field in Scotland that can accomadate 500 Morris minors and their owners  I w...

Re: transmision issues

Thanks, If the thermostate was in a different place on the Zetec you wouldn't have to cut the crossmember. As for the bike carbs I fitted them because the oringinal injection system is huge and wouldn't fit in because of the servo  Plus you'll get extra bhp and it sounds great   Stevie

Re: transmision issues

Hi, the focus st170 is fwd. But it's easily converted to rwd, the standard engine puts out about 170bhp but with bike carbs it'll go close to 200bhp!! And it'll rev to 8000rpm! :o As for fitting it into a Morris it's about the same as fitting a fiat twincam. My full conversion is on the forum Morris...

Re: transmision issues

A type 9 ford sierra gearbox bolts straight up to the engine. You also need go change the sump and clutch and flywheel. Also you need to change the thermostat for a retro ford . I've got a ford focus ST170 engine and type 9 box in my Morris :D

Re: Disc Brakes on rear?? any ideas

I've got disc brakes front and back on my Morris and never had any problems of locking up the back end, the brakes consist of ford fiesta XR2 solid drilled and grooved with mk3 calipers. The rear are fiesta discs with granada Scorpio calipers so I can have a hand brake. I've also used the mk3 fiesta...

Re: Engine and suspension swap -advice needed

A zetec st170 will be way way way out your budget! How old are you? Why not keep it basic by fitting by fitting a 1275 Mg engine to start with and a decent set of shocks and brakes?

Re: 1970 Trav "IGOR" (modified) PIC HEAVY! Ancilleries going on!

All of the running gear on my Morris is Ford so it's not too much of a headache :D but yes you still need a list of what parts you've used. Looking forward to seeing your new shox though it's always a boost in progress to see shiny new parts on the car :D
