Re: New vac unit fitted but now no spark.
She lives! Looks like it was a combination of me putting the insulation washer on the wrong side when I put everything back together the second time in the dizzy and a Chinese Lucas coil on it's way out. Put the wires in the dizzy back on the right side of the plastic washer and bunged a new Bosch B...

Re: New vac unit fitted but now no spark.
No spark on king lead either, points gap spot on at all revolutions and appear to be fitted ok. The dizzy cap and HT leads were new about 2 weeks ago and have been working fine. Would it be worth changing to an old set that I know works (kept in the boot for emergencies) and see if that makes a diff...

New vac unit fitted but now no spark.
What ho all. I have been having a problem with hesitation on acceleration and having read through previous topics on the subject and all else being as it should be I concluded that it was a dead vacuum unit. I have now replaced the vacuum unit, with the dizzy in situ, and all other parts are as they...

Re: front seats ?
Just out of curiosity. Would Renault Clio Alize seats fit, and would somebody like Newton Commercial be able to do the conversion and trimming. I only ask as I am looking at getting a Traveller at some point in the future. My other half has a particular back problem that means she finds very few car...

Re: Complete lose of all power!
Hello It would have looked impresive written out in full in the log book wouldn't it. :) But because of the lack of space the shortend version of the town name, Llanfairpwillgwynayll, was used instead. And no, I can't say it yet, but I keep trying. More practise needed! I plan to take a holiday to N...

Re: Complete lose of all power!
All fixed. The new rotor arm I'd put on wasn't good. I as soon as I exchanged it for another I had, she started on the first pull of the starter
She ran around all day today without missing a beat
That feels better!

Re: Complete lose of all power!
Right, one of the problems has been solved, I had a dying battery . All the earths have been checked cleaned up and cheacked again and appear to be fine. However, she still won't fire! :-? I've gone through all the usual checks. The coil is fine and I've got a spark at the pionts but nothing at the ...

Complete lose of all power!
Hello all I have an eletrical problem and I'm not sure whats causing it! The symptoms: She's travelling along quite happily but then suddenly the engine cuts out and I lose all electrical power. She did this to me two days ago, but I found that one of the low tension leads on the coil was slighty lo...

Re: Rear axle seal track repair kits?
I'm told their called 'Speedi Sleeves'. Their for going inside the worn axle shaft to create a sleeve into which the seal can be placed to stop it from leaking.

Re: Rear axle leak
I saw something in another thread about those seal track repair kits, they sound like a good solution. Do you know where I can get some from?
It won't be the bearings as they have been replaced with new ones each time.

Rear axle leak
Hi I have a continuous problem with the near side seal on my rear axle. I keep replacing the seals, bearing and gasket, but within a year oil starts to leak through again, fouling my break shoes. Could it be that the axle is worn where the seals sit, thus causing oil to pass by them over a period of...

Re: "Morris Minor Driving Instruction"
I agree with that too. In the latest issue of Practical Classics it describes the Moggie as sluggish, I think they can be quite nippy. Speaking of the Vauxhall Corsa... think how many young people have learnt to drive in these and had one as a first car, I think in the future there will be some aff...

Re: "Morris Minor Driving Instruction"
I'd agree with that. I often find 'Maggie' gets up to 70 on a duel carriage way really easily, and stays there. Sometimes she even creeps up without me noticing the difference from when doing 65, until I look at the speedo.
