Re: battery terminal cup connectors

Considering the amount of crud in and around a moggy, handling a bit of lead is the least of my worries.

Re: battery terminal cup connectors

well ive found one, which i can duplicate easily. I dont think they stopped producing them because they where made of lead, i think the world of car design simply moved on. As for the lead, anyone who lives in a house built before the 1920 will get there water from the mains via a lead pipe, may hav...

Re: Heated rear window

I’m in Bristol and I’m looking for
a drivers seat frame,
one of the circular chromed ashtrays that went under the dashboard,
a blue and white duo tone drivers door card,
a good pair of quarter lights,
reasonable boot lid,
hinge for the inset style of glove boxes.
Pair of door mirrors

Re: Glove box lid clips

You know, that sounds entirely plausible as all I have to go on is the two doors I bought, each with a roller clip on the top and a hole where they should go. So I assumed that they had to have a corresponding clip on the car, which I simply didn’t have.

How did you attach it at the front end?

Re: Glove box lid clips

Mine has the chrome surround and it does have a clip on it, but I would of thought that they would have a corresponding clip just underneath the top lip of the glovebox hole.

Glove box lid clips

I’m reinstating the inset style glove box lids to my car, but it appears I am missing the little clip that’s fixed inside the glove box at the top. I’ve looked around and it appears they are either like hens teeth or people a just bolstering prices to say that. I saw a pair on eBay for £45, which to...

Heated rear window

Selling the heated rear window as it’s surplus to requirements.
It’s got the wires inlaid in the screen so it’s the same as modern ones.
No scratches, chips etc

£40 or will swap for a few bits and pieces

Re: Convertible sill strengthening

The roof line above the window is also something that has got me thinking.
Have people taken the roof back to the bar above the window or as pictured, left an inch or two of the actual roof?

Convertible sill strengthening

In the future I am going to whip off the roof of my moggy and naturally I’ll need to reinforce the sills. For this I have bought the proper sill reinforcement panels from esm and to get everything right, I need to know there exact placement. So, does anyone have any photos, diagrams or past experien...

Re: Metal thickness

Well, after reading all the very helpful posts, it’s obvious that I’m out of my depth so I’ve gripped the bull motif by the wing mirrors and enrolled on an 8 week (Thursday evenings) welding course. But if a hike every Thursday, but I know it will be worth it

Re: Metal thickness

A mog welder would certainly be a good and appropriate welder, but I fear that my dyslexic fingers have made a typo, so it was meant to be a mig welder.

As for tin plated electrodes,I’ve never heard of one of those either.

Re: Metal thickness

Having had a bit of a think and done some research over the past few days, I’ve decided that a mog welder for the thin stuff I’ve got to weld would be an easier way than blowing holes in everything with gas. As I sold my mig welder last year (typical) I am going in invest in a new one. Which brings ...
