Re: Salon rear seat back wing bolts

That’s what I was thinking, they must have one of those nuts with spikes on that has been pressed into the actual sheet of wooden backing.

If you’re able to measure the thread for one of those, I’ll commence the hunt for one.

Roll over jigs on wheels

I’ve got a roll over jig that’s in the style of the Mr Grumpy ones, but it’s not made by him. Anyway, I am going to roll over Alice so I can sort her out and I would love to do it in the garage, but I fear that it’s not wide enough. As I don’t have the luxury of have a drive way (rented garage) I ca...

Re: Alice - 2 door Saloon to Roadster

fudge, it is not letting me add them for some reason. Anyway, ill continue with the update. So today I decided to tackle the passenger's door and replace the very rusty panel on its underside. Whilst I have done most things on minor's, door repairs are not one of them. So i did the google search and...

Re: Salon rear seat back wing bolts

Definitely not into concourse, I like mine rough and ready

I’ll drill it out and rethread it with a metric one and put a yellow dot on it so I know which bolt is for which

Is anyone doing a convertible conversion?

Is anyone doing a convertible conversion this winter? I ask as i want to see how people have either or will be finishing the roof above the windscreen and how the area where the roof connects to the body above the boot has been finished. I am turning my minor into a roadster with no roof at all and ...

Re: Starter handle guide tube

I’ve forgotten to say, I have seen one on a turquoise low light version that’s being restored by a fellow member. But I’ve attached a photo with the guide tube highlighted

Starter handle guide tube

I have seen on a few cars that there is a little tube that’s bolted to the radiator shroud and pointing inwards towards the lower pulley and the starter dog. Having looked at old and new shrouds, they all have the two bolt holes for said handle guide but I haven’t seen a handle guide tube in a list ...

Alice - 2 door Saloon to Roadster

Well, I have decided to make a restoration thread for the conversion of my 1963 2 door saloon to a 2 door roadster, so ill start from the very beginning. I have had classic cars all my life and it started out with a 1959 Wolseley 1500 for my 17th birthday. My father and I finished off the restoratio...

Re: Cooked alternator

I’ll have a look at that over the weekend. If it’s more than just the diode, what would be a recommended make and model of alternator be?

Cooked alternator

I made a fundamental mistake this morning, I put the battery on the wrong way around and smoke immediately started pouring out of the alternator, plus the red ignition light stays on when the key is out.
Have I cooked the alternator totally or is it salvageable?

Salon rear seat back wing bolts

The rear seats back cushion is held to the body by two wing bolts that are accessible through the boot, that’s the bit we all know. In the past, someone has replaced said wing bolts with a standard bolt and cross-threaded one of them on my car. In trying to undo it, the head snapped off. So, I would...

Considering the amount of crud in and around a moggy, handling a bit of lead is the least of my worries.

Re: battery terminal cup connectors

well ive found one, which i can duplicate easily. I dont think they stopped producing them because they where made of lead, i think the world of car design simply moved on. As for the lead, anyone who lives in a house built before the 1920 will get there water from the mains via a lead pipe, may hav...

i want to put in my morris a pair of the cup connectors that connect the terminals. I had these on my wolseley 1500 and i really liked them, but finding a pair now if proving to be elusive. Anyone know where i can buy a new set OR if they have a spare set i could buy? I have attached a picture of wh...

Re: Glove box lid clips

You know, that sounds entirely plausible as all I have to go on is the two doors I bought, each with a roller clip on the top and a hole where they should go. So I assumed that they had to have a corresponding clip on the car, which I simply didn’t have.

Re: Glove box lid clips

Mine has the chrome surround and it does have a clip on it, but I would of thought that they would have a corresponding clip just underneath the top lip of the glovebox hole.
