Re: Tappet chest gasket problem.
these rubber ones are a total pain, get the cork ones! i had a set, if you tighten them too tight, they push out and oil pours everywhere, leave them so they stay in place and theyre not tight enough so oil oozes out. get the cork type and just nip them up, as said, no leaks!

yes it needs to be tight, and no it wont solve the light, but it might solve the alternator not charging, which i believe ot be seperate problems.

But you still don't say how you check the alternator, you do so by taking the battery reading yes?

Re: any electronics guys in here?
What I was thinking was when a massive changing the gyro is measured, powering the cam, one quick snapshot, seeing what ever hex value is most common, ie red blue ect and then avoiding, aiming for it accordingly.

Re: ignation warning light will not go out
stupid question, but are you trying ot measure voltage AT the alternator, or are you reading it accross the battery with the engine running? ie, 12.5v with ignition off, then with it on the battery is still 12.5v? in all honesty the odds of two alternators being duff are slim

Re: Fume vent pipe
Sounds like the crank case breather, only there to relieve pressure in the case, nothing should come out of it! If it is then there's something up with the engine surely? Gas escaping through the piston rings?

Re: Alternator conversion in situ
i cant make anything out thre, but it doesnt look like it has anywhere to plumb in the engine water, or indeed even draw in the hot air from across the engine, so i cant see it being very good... but i could be mistaken?

Re: Alternator conversion in situ
The problem is you'll never really get a useable electric heater when your using 12v. The current draw is insane. I spose in theory you could use a spark generator to get the high voltage, then a hell of a power amp to get the current up.... but then it would have to be self powered so the gain woul...
