Re: Pickup restoration part three

That front shot looks good. I'm about to take my front panel apart to respray it and it might be worth tidying up the bumper at the same time. Is that a new bumper blade that you bought or did you respray the original?

Hi Chris,

I realise I'm a bit slow on the uptake.. but what numbers do you want from my pick-up (and where do I find them?)

Not being funny, but don't you already know where it's been since 1960..

Bung the DVLA a few quid and they'll tell you who first registered it (possibly..)

£8000 insurance doesn't seem too steep and you probably get a discount if you join FJ

Re: Storage in shipping Container?

I know a chap who had his Lotus Cortina stored in a shipping container at a farm. Some kids started a fire nearby and the fire-brigade refused to try and open the container as it might have had oxy etc inside. The Cortina was just a twisted mess by the time the fire had burnt itself out.

Re: Correct procedure for spraying wheels

I'm going to do the wheels dark silver I've decided. I have a vague notion that I might try and win some condition awards in the future and .. oh, I don't know and what.. but dark silver wheels was an option when the truck was new. I realise I could do them with rattle cans but since I have the comp...

Re: Correct procedure for spraying wheels

Ok, I'm still a little at sea with this. I've got myself an oil-free compressor so that I can do another job on the house and I've found a website that will sell me some cellulose Triumph Tahiti Blue, which I'll need to spray a few bits that are a bit tatty on the truck. It seems like a good idea to...

Correct procedure for spraying wheels

Hello. I have just had a set of wheels sand blasted and now intend to spray them at home, but the last time I did this I wasn't too happy with the results. [frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1287829831_10391 [/frame] I was planning to spray with grey primer and then spray topcoat in dark sil...
