engine starts,runs well an till hot
my 1960 11oo starts well untill she gets hot then she starts to faulter at low rev's,before cutting out completely,there is no smell of petrol, plugs,points fine,earth good fuel geting through,very annoying as got to get to mot station next week,oh by the way when cooled down starts fine, Help please.

Dear All, When checking oil and water today,i noticed oil bubbling away around each of the spark plug base's,where they screw into the head ! I took out each plug in turn and they seem normal i.e not oiled up! she does not use much oil and no water loss and no oil in water that i can see and she run...

I took mine to my local garage and they did exactly that,In a vice two wacks with a ball peine and off they came,could have saved myself a tenner if i knew it was that easy !

i know with pistons the oversize is stamped on the top,how do i tell if the crank has been reground,will the size be stamped on back of old shells or stamped somwhere on crank or con rod shells ?

I need a new dizzy,and from reading previouse posts it seem's you can get a 25d4 dizzy from simon bbc quite a bit cheaper than a new lucas one and has been recomended by quite a few members,but i am a bit confused by some of the post that say 45d dizzy's... Are these one's for 1275 or are they a bet...

I might be wrong but according to the manual there should be 3/4" freeplay at pedal end for the 948 cc and 1 3/8" to 1 1/2 free play for 1098 cc ....A 67 should be a 1098 cc

Not Multigrade It's lawnmower oil straight 30 SAE from local garden center !Could feel the diffrence after filling !

Sorry that should have read 1 1/2 " from stops to flat plate,Before loping stops of course !

It's 1/2 " from bump stop to flat plate,have sliced 1" off stops but still no diff,Will try flushing dampers again ! Thanks Old Nick
